How translation hours and billing work
What is a translation hour?
One hour of service audio translated into one active language equals one translation hour.
1 hour × Spanish + Arabic = 2 translation hours
Additional hours and billing
Monthly hours reset at renewal and don’t roll over. If you go over, your live service continues and additional hours are billed at your plan’s rate.
All monthly plans begin with a 14-day trial or 4 translation hours, whichever comes first. A card is required.

Can we use it in a small class or group?
Yes. Broadcast from your phone’s microphone or an external mic, and listeners follow on their own phones. It works for settings like a classroom, small group, or meeting. You’ll need an internet connection.
Can a class and service translate at the same time?
Simultaneous streams are included on every plan. Run two rooms at once, each with its own audio feed and language settings. Add and name up to 10 rooms. Translation usage from both active rooms counts toward the same account’s hours.
How easy is it to get started?
Connect an audio source and start translation. The spoken language is detected automatically. Then share your church’s link or QR code. Once your audio is connected, the day-to-day setup takes just a few steps.
What equipment does our church need?
An audio source and an internet-connected computer, smartphone, or tablet. That can be your sound system, an external microphone, or the device’s built-in mic. Listeners just need a smartphone and earbuds. A direct feed from the sound system gives the clearest results.
How do guests listen?
They scan your church’s QR code or open its link, choose a language, and tap Listen. No app to install and no account to create.
Can this help someone who is deaf or hard of hearing?
Yes. Captions-only mode lets them read the spoken message on their phone. They can follow along without turning on audio or using earbuds.
Does the pastor need to pause for translation?
No. Live translation runs continuously while the pastor speaks, delivering translated audio and captions throughout the service.
How fast is it?
Verhēma is built for fast, continuous delivery, generally about one sentence behind the speaker. That gives the translation context to carry the meaning of the thought, rather than translating isolated words. You keep speaking naturally while guests follow along. Timing varies with the language, speaking pace, and connection.
Can we schedule our weekly services?
Yes. Save your regular service days and times in the dashboard. Before service, open the dashboard, keep the computer awake, and have your audio connected so the scheduled start can run.
Are all languages and unlimited listeners included?
Yes, on every plan. Each guest chooses their own language, and several languages can run at once. Plans differ in included hours and support, with no extra charge per listener.
How are translation hours counted?
One hour of service audio in one active language uses one translation hour. One hour in Spanish and Arabic uses two. Each active language counts separately.
What happens if we use all our monthly hours?
Your service continues. Additional hours are billed at your plan’s published rate, and your included hours reset at the next monthly renewal. Unused hours do not roll over.
How does the free trial work?
Your trial includes 14 days or 4 translation hours, whichever comes first. A payment card is required. Choose a monthly plan to begin; the one-time Event Pass does not include a trial.
