Terms of Service

Effective July 27, 2026

1. The service

Verhēma ("the Service") provides live, AI-assisted translation of church services: translated audio and captions delivered to listeners' own devices, together with related tools such as a church glossary, Scripture references, stream health indicators, and church branding. The Service is operated by Verhēma ("we," "us").

2. Accounts

A church account is created by an administrator on behalf of a church or ministry ("the Church"). The administrator confirms they are authorized to act for the Church. The Church is responsible for the accuracy of its account information, for the people it grants administrator access to, and for all activity under its account. Keep sign-in credentials secure and notify us promptly of any unauthorized use.

3. Trials, subscriptions, and payment

4. Acceptable use

The Service is built for live church services and similar ministry gatherings. The Church agrees not to use the Service to violate any law, to infringe the rights of others, to transmit content it does not have the right to transmit, or to attempt to disrupt, probe, or overload the Service. We may suspend accounts engaged in abuse.

5. Automated translation

Translation is generated by automated speech recognition and machine translation. It is provided for live accessibility, not as a certified or authoritative translation. Accuracy varies with audio quality, speech pace, names, and specialized vocabulary. The Church remains responsible for what is spoken in its services and for reviewing any translated material it chooses to reuse.

6. Church content

The Church retains all rights to its content: its audio, its name and branding, and its glossary entries. The Church grants us the limited license needed to operate the Service, that is, to receive, process, translate, and deliver that content to the Church's listeners in real time. We do not sell Church content or use sermon audio to build advertising profiles.

7. Availability and support

We work to keep the Service reliable, and stream health tooling is provided so problems are visible quickly. However, live internet services depend on networks, devices, and third-party providers, and the Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of uninterrupted or error-free operation. Support is provided per the Church's plan.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, and our total liability for any claims arising out of the Service is limited to the amounts the Church paid for the Service in the three months before the event giving rise to the claim.

9. Termination

The Church may stop using the Service and cancel at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts for material breach of these terms, for non-payment once billing is active, or where required by law. On termination we will, on request, delete the Church's stored configuration data as described in the Privacy Policy.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the Service evolves. Material changes will be communicated to the account administrator email, and continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
